Privacy at Maaatram

We value your trust. This page explains what we collect, why, and how you control your data. Maaatram is built privacy-first — no trackers, no third-party ad networks, and clear user control.

Minimal Data

We collect only what is necessary to run the service: email, handle, profile, and posts.

No trackers

We do not include third-party trackers or ad networks. Analytics are limited and privacy-respecting.

You control your data

Export, edit or delete your account and content at any time via Settings.

What we collect

  • Account info: email (used for magic-links), display name, handle, avatar.
  • Content: posts, reflections, images, comments (you create).
  • Usage data: anonymized metrics for product health and reliability (no personal tracking).
  • Uploads: images and media are stored in object storage with signed URLs.

How we use it

We use data to provide and improve the service, to secure accounts, and to let you interact. We will not sell your personal data or use it for targeted advertising.

Sharing & third parties

We may use trusted providers for hosting, email delivery, and storage. Each provider is chosen for security and privacy. We require vendors to maintain strong security practices and limit their access.

Cookies & local storage

We use minimal cookies for session security and to support preferences (dark mode, locale). We use localStorage only for non-critical UX (dismissed banners, UI preferences). You can clear these anytime.

Your rights & controls

  • Export: Request a JSON export of your account and content via Settings → Privacy.
  • Delete: Account deletion is possible with a 30-day soft-delete window to prevent accidental loss.
  • Edit: Update profile, handle (subject to rules), and content directly in your profile/edit screens.

Security

We use industry-standard security: HTTPS, secure cookies, input validation, prepared statements, and audit logging. Admin moderation actions are logged for accountability.
